August 14th

Fort McMurray was a blast even with the crazy weather. On Friday the 6th they shut down early because of the crazy thunderstorm. On saturday it rained about 6pm and then it was good and sunday was hot but then again every afternoon that weekend the weather was stinking hot.

I got to see some old friends and acquaintances and make meet new people which/whom I hope to see again.

I came home Monday to have the guys arrive to start installing our windows. I never realized how much went into it because I just thought you take one window out and slide another in. Kinda but you have to remove the old moulding around the windows, clean the area, put the new window in, level it, fill it with insulation, cap the outside, fill insulation on the inside and put on new trim and fill nail holes. They had started Monday and finished today. In their defence we did get rain practically everyday and the bay window they had to replace was higher then the guy knew about so that took over a day to finish completely.

And now we have to stain the trim and put back whatever blinds will fit.

So I never got to the torch because they were cutting wood in the garage entrance and sawdust does not go well with molten glass. ANd the boys stuck to me like glue once I got home, like glue.

And now tomorrow I am taking the boys to Edmonton so that I can do a little shopping on Monday and steal blueberries my mother has been picking.

So much for the summer being slower. Quinton starts school soon too and who knows what time I will have then but I am going to squeeze in all I can and I have pieces to add to the site for sale. Oh where is the time?

August 4th

Well I am trying to pack my stuff up to get ready for my trip to Fort McMurray tomorrow to do interPLAY this weekend but as I am packing items up, I am finding more beads to make jewelry with so it may be a late night getting it all ready.
If you are in Fort McMurray you should definitely take the time to come downtown to see the festival, there will be street performers, singers, plays happening around town and the awesome market place with lots of items to see and buy.

So all items that are on this site and on etsy will be there and if you are interested in them, email me first. I don't know if I will have internet access while I am there but I will do my best and if all else fails, I will be home late Monday to reply to you.

July 27th

So I have been a busy bee as the boys are sleeping but it takes a lot of work to make pieces, then price them, label them, photograph them and before you know it is 11pm and you have only made 4 pieces. My stand for my earrings I could not find this evening(RONAN) so I had to you a jar to take pictures and they kinda worked out. These are some new earrings I am trying out.

And it is 8 days before interPLAY in Fort McMurray.

This afternoon took the boys, grandma and their cousin to Lloydminster to the petting zoo there. It was pretty good and we spent over an hour which is amazing for little kids looking at animals. I don't know what Quintons' favourite animal of the day was but Ronan was all for the baby calves and kittens. I was totally into the turtles. Yup they had turtles and it was cool because you could touch their shells and the smaller one you could pick up. The bigger turtle they had was actually trying to get out of its' inclosure and was pushing the fence around. Wish I had remember to pack the camera. Dork.

In June I was shopping in the city and my cell phone goes off. The cell phone is rarely on and only when I am traveling. So it is ringing and I think "what did the boys do now?" since my parents are watching them; well it just so happens that it is someone I knew from Fort McMurray that was calling. Let me tell you it surprised the socks off of me and I was not all together while talking to her. I did have a brief conversation, because I answered the phone while my groceries were being totalled, and it was nice to talk to Karen. And it was so illuminating(I am not sure the correct word) for me because I just happened to have the phone on when she tried to call me and what are the chances of that happening?

Made earrings today but my biggest thing were the beads yesterday.

These ones are not for sale because I made them for Quinton. There are 3 different images so you have to go to each thumbnail to see them.

I know I can be a cool mom sometimes.

This past week we have gotten a lot of rain and the back yard is so soggy but Quinton still goes out today and turns the hose on to wash some toys. Like dude they didn't get enough water and can't you use all the water from the rain barrels?

JULY 10TH

I am trying to list pieces on ETSY but it is hard when your 4 year old keeps coming into the office saying "mom, I'm bored". Sometimes I wish I worked away from the home because then I would not have the boys coming to visit and whining about one thing or another. But then if that happened, I would start feeling guilty about being away from the kids so much. I am caught in a mad cycle.

Roy is fishing today so I get to torch tomorrow, yeah! If you are trying to figure out why I am happy, well someone has to keep an eye or two on the kids and when you are torching you just can't. I tried it once and before I new it, Quinton had walked to the park, which is not far but it is not visible from the garage.

Today I took the boys to A&W to meet some friends and as we are leaving, Ronan runs off in one direction and Quinton goes the opposite. So I was torn on who to chase down first. Luckily Ronan ran back so I grab him like a football and went after Quinton. Needless to say we will not be doing that for awhile. And I wonder how women do it when they have more kids,or are their kids just better behaved then mine?

July 9th

So the weather has been interesting this past week because it will be hot during the day and then we will get a thunderstorm later in the day and then it is hot again.

I finished the farmers market in the city which was really good but I never realized how big it was and I have to plan a trip to go shopping in it one day because I never got the chance on the 3rd.

Roy is going fishing tomorrow with his father, they are fish crazy right now because they have caught fish. After two years of just nibbles, they caught some big trouts and are now addicted.

So I am planning on sunday making beads because if he gets a day off to do whatever he wants, I should get a day to torch or I will be kicking someones butt because I have not been at the torch now for over a month and I need the flame...

Quinton is done playschool and I signed him up to do a week of a camp that ran from 9-3pm and believe it or not he liked it and was good for the instructors until this afternoon. I think he was just tired and needed a nap, which he did not do.

I am working on getting pieces ready for interPLAY on August 6-8th and I am looking forward to the trip up to Fort McMurray to get a chance to see old friends.
