December 6th I will be at ST.Paul at the St.Paul recreation centre (5310-48th ave) from 10am to 4:30pm.

December 13th I will be at Tri city mall for the last craft show of the year.

November 22nd I will be doing a craft show in Red water at Pembina Place(53st and 51ave) from 10:00 am to 3:00pm.  There is an admission of $2.00($1.00 for draw ticket and $1.00 goes to redwater food bank).  https://www.facebook.com/events/714821721922002/

November 29th I will be at Cherry Grove Christmas Bazaar from 10:00 am to 4:00pm.  Cherry Grove is by Cold Lake and it is a great show to go to because 20minutes away in Pierceland they will be having a craft show.

I just finished a class with Sharon Peters.  It was a two day class at Bedrock in Edmonton.  I actually had a lot of "Ah ha" moments during her class and I even learnt some bead making techniques to help what I do already.   My sister mentioned "Is she the one that did the carrot eating the rabbit?"  I think so but I couldn't find an image to show you but I remember now that is why I wanted to take her classes years ago.
One of the things she mentioned was stringing together beads you have taken from classes so that you can remember what you have done and how you improved since then.  So I came home and did just that.  Honestly the beads for some were really easy but the beads from my first years of bead making were harder to sort and I kinda did but I am sure I may have mixed the odd one up.

How is everyone doing?  My sister pointed out that she does not have facebook so I need to keep up here also.  Sorry sis.  What has been happening and how long will that take?

Lets start from the recent and go back in time….

Weekly I normally organize hot lunch for my kids school and this week I didn’t have to so I planned on torching.  I go into the garage to start up the kiln and realize I have not mandrels dipped and I personally like my mandrels to air dry a little before I use them.  So I go to set some up so that I can torch the next day and I open my bead release to realize that needs to be refilled.  So as a beadmaker you can just use one type of release from any company but I am weird and like to mix my releases so there went more time.   (bead release is what you put on steel mandrels so that the hot glass will eventually come off the rod to be a bead or you get a fancy stir stick).

I just celebrated my birthday.  My husband bought me a present and it came earlier then he planned so he wrapped it and stuck it on top of the fridge to torture me( I think it tortured him more then me) . I got to open my present from my husband a couple of days before my actual birthday and as a present he bought me lampworking tools for CG beads  http://cgbeads.com  they are graphite tools to help shape the beads.  So the past weekend I tried them out.

They are really cool but I will not lie and I have to figure out how to shape them and have them keep their shape without overheating them or having them crack.  I did have several that cracked because they cooled to quickly before going into the kiln.  It may not help that even though my garage is heated I have to open a window for fresh air to come in and it was -20Celius here.   Please bring spring mother nature!

But I love my husband for buying me tools that I have been thinking about but have never used.

I am a Beaver leader and in February the boys got to decorate and race their cars.  For family there is a video clip with some images of them here.  http://www.kinosooscouts.ca

January I have purging stuff, the new year and all, come May I will have one big garage sale of “chochkies” because I have boys and there is no way in hell they are going to want to move a crap load of ornaments and dust collectors when they are finally old enough to move out of the house, so I am trying to get rid of them.  And they are kids, I am sure I will be getting mother days presents for a very long time that will have to sit on the shelf so I better make room for that.

December was the hurry up and wait month.  You know what I mean, make a crap load of cookies and presents and then hide them around the house until the big day.  I am glad we do not go over board with the whole Christmas thing but there are some things you have to do for the kids.  Especially for the santa cookies.
